HO CHI MINH CITY Portuguesa Mundial Camisola , Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- VN-Index, the main index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in southern Vietnam, climbed this week thanks to investors' optimism after several trades sliding in the previous week.

The VN-Index closed at 578.76 points on Friday, up 0.38 points, or 0.07 percent, from the previous trading day's close. From the previous week's close, the index won 12.18 points, or 2.14 percent.
During the week, the index experienced five straight ups, posting the highest level of 578.76 points on Friday, and the lowest level of 568.01 points on Monday. In comparison, it ranged between 566.58 points and 585.91 points the previous week.
About 106.676 million shares worth 1.913 trillion VND (90.04 million U.S. dollars) changed hands on the HCM City Stock Exchange (HoSE) on Friday, a decrease of 1.6 percent in volume, but an increase of 5.96 percent in value as against Thursday.
