BELGRADE， April 16 (Xinhua) -- Abel Rop Kipruto and Stellah Barsosio Jepngetich from Kenya won the 29th Belgrade Marathon on Saturday in the capital of Serbia.
Kipruto finished the men's race in two hours， 23 minutes and 59 seconds while Jepngetich took the women's in 2:43:41.
After the race Kipruto said that the race was tough because of the warm weather of around 25 degrees Celsius， but that he is extremely satisfied with his result.
"First half was OK， but during second half it became terribly hot，" he said.
"This is my second marathon， my best time is two hours 16 minutes，" he added.
Jepngetich， who also participated at the Belgrade marathon for the first time， said the victory made her very happy， especially because of the tough conditions at the track.
"I am satisfied， but weather was very difficult for me， and it was too hot，" she said， adding that although this is one of her first marathons， she gave her best and won the race.
Director of the Belgrade Marathon Dejan Nikolic said that he is satisfied with the organization of the 29th marathon because it gathered 33 percent more participants， and 50 percent more foreign participants than last year.
"In half-marathon and marathon we had 6，000 participants from 60 countries. Around 20，000 people participated in the Fun Run，" he said.
Nikolic added that marathon had a great atmosphere and a great promoter Javier Sotomayor， a former Cuban athlete and a record holder in high jump. He explained that organizers did not expect breaking of records， having in mind the warm and dry weather.
The record for the 42-kilometer race through the streets of Serbian capital was set in 2006 by Japhet Kosgei who finished in 2:10:54. Record for the women's race was set by Cristina Pomacu in 2001 - 2:29:44.

HO CHI MINH CITY， April 18 (Xinhua) -- Pham Phuoc Hung has become the first Vietnamese gymnast to have secured a berth at the upcoming Rio Olympics， bringing the total number of tickets gained by Vietnam to 13 so far， the Vietnam Olympic Committee said Monday.
At an ongoing pre-Olympic gymnastics tournament in Brazil， Hung managed to reach the Olympic standard at the all-round event on April 17.

BUDAPEST， Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Hungarian National Food Chain Safety Bureau has ordered the culling of all poultry， infected or not， within a one kilometer radius of avian influenza outbreak sites located in southern Hungary， local wire service MTI reported on Saturday.
The measure targeted the sites near the towns of Bugac and Kiskunmajsa in Bacs-Kiskun county and involved tens of thousands of animals. Farmers will be compensated for their losses.
The national chief veterinarian on Tuesday ordered that all poultry in the southeastern counties of Bekes， Bacs-Kiskun， and Csongrad must be kept indoors to prevent contact with the migrating wild ducks that have been spreading the H5N8 virus.
Similar measures to protect poultry have been taken by Germany， Austria， the Netherlands， France， Poland， Denmark， Croatia， and Switzerland， which are all at risk since they are all along the ducks' migration route.

ZESA Holdings chief executive Josh Chifamba was quoted by the state-run Herald newspaper on Tuesday as saying that the utility was failing to pay 43 million U.S. dollars it owes South Africa's Eskom and Mozambique's Hidroelectrica de Cahora Bassa (HCB) due to foreign currency shortages.
The 43 million U.S. dollars is coming from a payment plan that ZESA struck with the two regional power utilities early this year.
According to the plan Air Jordan 11 Win Like 96 Size 12 , ZESA should have paid 89 million dollars between January and April this year but only managed to pay 46 million dollars.

Zimbabwe has engaged China's Sinohydro to expand Kariba South Power plant by 300 MW. The first 150 MW unit of the expansion project is expected to come on stream by December and the other 150 MW unit by the first quarter of next year.
ZESA says the additional 300MW from Kariba would go a long way in helping the power utility to meet national demand.
