The Kennedy Administration would begin a massive public relations campaign by the renamed and restructured President’s Council on Physical Fitness, promoting the virtues of exercise. The public push for fitness would continue with vigor during the administration of Lyndon B. Johnson. There was seemingly an ulterior motive to these efforts – promoting fitness in the youth would ensure that more draft-age men would be classifiable as 1-A, or at least might be easier and less-expensively put through their paces in basic training. These goals of serving your country by staying fit were subliminally laced into the messages and imagery of the program, nearly portraying the fat, lazy slob as absolutely unpatriotic. Such was the mindset of the sixties. All of this of course had its overlaps into the world of animation, as will be discussed below.

Of all the ill-advised live-action adaptions of anime properties that Netflix has cooking, we’re the most cautiously optimistic about Cowboy Bebop. Unlike a lot of the others, the concept wouldn’t look silly in the medium — much of what was in the original show can be recreated with real actors on a TV budget.
Jon finally puts on an aerobics workout record. Garfield can’t stand much more of this, and decides to get things over faster by switching the phonograph speed to 78. Jon waves his arms so fast, he takes off like a bird, and Garfield decides he better cut this out before Jon flies South for the winter. The record is switched off, and Jon crashes like an airplane. “You’d better stop trying to improve your health before you remove your health”, warns Garfield. While Jon is out, Garfield decides enough is enough, and resets the scale to its original settings. He tests it by standing on the platform. “You are still 20 pounds overweight. Your fortune is, you are about to get more exercise.” “More exercise?”, questions Garfield. Jon enters to find out his progress, and is delighted to hear the scale state he is back to normal weight. He is dismayed, however, to hear the scale state, “Your fortune is, you will punish your cat for tampering with the scale earlier.” A split second before they happen, the scale continues with its predictions: “You will chase your cat around the living room. He will slip on the throw rug, swing from the chandelier, and crash into the wall.” “Boy, are those things accurate”, observes Garfield. As the two disappear in their chase, the scale continues to predict, “You will chase him out the front door. You will chase him down the block – and they lived heavily ever after. THE END – END – END – END…”

Cartoon Backpacks For School
That’s one impressive-looking reboot! …Except it’s not a reboot at all. Smith has stated Revelation is intended to be a continuation of the original Masters of the Universe series. This sounds a bit odd at first since the original cartoon looked like a bunch of Colorforms stuck on cheap cardboard, and this…doesn’t. The intent is not to recreate how the old Filmation series actually looked, but how it looked in the minds of children like Smith at the time.
Warner and Disney compete with Garfield next week, in an epic struggle of survival of the fittest.
Below are 13 cartoons which the original opening titles and credits are currently lost. These photographs and scans show that the original art is in very fragile shape. Cel paint is chipping off and the archive (or Maltese himself) sometimes mis-matched the credits and the background art. That said, I find it a miracle we can view any of these today.
