BERLIN， Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Ifo Business Climate Index for industry and trade in Germany rose to 111.0 points in February from 109.9 points in January， the research institute reported on Wednesday.
According to Ifo， assessments of the current business situation reached the highest level since August 2011.
Meanwhile， surveyed companies are more optimistic about the months ahead after making a cautious start into the year.
The business climate indexes in manufacturing and wholesaling sectors improved， while the indexes in retailing and construction fell， the Munich-based think tank reported.
"Sentiment among German managers improved this month，" Ifo president Clemens Fuest commented， adding "the German economy is back on track."
The Ifo Business Climate Index， considered the most important barometer for the German economy， is based on about 7，000 monthly survey responses from firms in manufacturing， construction， wholesaling and retailing.

The Napoli striker lined up alongside fellow attackers Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria in the Albiceleste's final training session before the match at Mario Kempes stadium in Cordoba.
Aguero was a peripheral figure in Argentina's 2-1 victory over Chile on Thursday before being replaced by Higuain in the 67th minute.
Coach Gerardo Martino also used central defenders Martin Demichelis and Javier Pinola during Monday's training session. The veteran pair are expected to take the place of suspended duo Ramiro Funes Mori and Nicolas Otamendi against Bolivia.
Speaking to reporters upon the Albiceleste's arrival in Cordoba on Monday, Higuain insisted Argentina would not settle for anything less than a victory against Julio Baldivieso's team.
"It's an important match against Bolivia and we want to play well," the former Real Madrid striker said. "This is a key match that we have to win to stay on track in the qualifiers."
Higuain has scored 37 goals in 31 matches across all competitions for Napoli this season. He has been capped 53 times for Argentina and netted 26 international goals.
Argentina are currently fifth in the South American zone World Cup qualifying tournament with eight points from five matches. Bolivia are ninth in the 10-team standings with just three points.

RAMALLAH, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- An official in Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Fatah party accused rival Hamas movement on Tuesday for maneuvering after the latter called for new reconciliation meetings in Cairo.
Majid al-Fitiani, secretary of Fatah Revolutionary Council Nike Air Max 90 Glow Rosse Scontate Italia , told Xinhua that Hamas movement "is trying to evade implementation of its commitments."
He added that "reconciliation does not require new meetings because we have held innumerable meetings with Hamas in the past ten years without actual implementation for what is agreed upon."
Fitiani said that Hamas "insists on operating according to regional accounts, especially with regard to the file of Palestinian reconciliation, and pursue a policy of maneuvering by calling for new meetings."
He considered that Hamas' call for new meetings "aims at inspiring the Palestinian people with efforts to achieve reconciliation, while on the ground the internal division is being consecrated."
Fitiani stressed that Fatah "is adhered to three requirements announced clearly five months ago that Hamas must dissolve its administrative committee in Gaza, enable the consensus government to act in Gaza, and then discuss the formation of a national unity government and the holding of the general elections."
